Being reincarnated as an eight year old sounds like a fun fresh start until you remember you already had a life worth keeping. Allora Lee joins me to break down the premise behind Otherworldly, where the MC's “new life” comes with a horrifying catch: the mind inside her is a stranger, not a past life, and the people around her treat her like an inconvenience at best. We dig into how that single choice flips the usual isekai fantasy into something sharper, sadder, and far more character driven.
Allora explains stat sickness, why rare classes can be dangerous, and how progression systems can create real physical and emotional stakes instead of effortless power. Then we hit one of my favorite details: the MC's shadow weaving, which she uses to knit tiny shadow creatures as a form of comfort in a world that she is unfamiliar with.
We also preview her upcoming fantasy release, Witcher Warrior Scholar Spy, featuring four local heroes, a looming Doom, and a grim magic system built on divine wells that demand brutal sacrifices.

Welcome And Meet Alora Lee
SPEAKER_01Welcome everyone to Another World. Today I have on the fantastic Alora Lee. Alora, how are you? I'm doing wonderful. Thank you so much for having me on. I'm so excited. Thank you for coming on. So you have a few series that are out. Well, you have one series that is out and one that's coming out soon.
SPEAKER_00I actually have two full series out and one that's coming out soon.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_00So I have three. Yeah. Fantastic. The one that's out, the two that are out both take place in the same world, though. Okay. Okay. And they're both um take place in the world of Otherworldly.
SPEAKER_01So give us kind of a rundown on the main Otherworldly series that you have out there now.
SPEAKER_00So Otherworldly A Shattered Awakening is the first book in Otherworldly, and it's about a woman who's been reincarnated in a fantasy world as one is, only she's not happy to be there. She had a great life in the before, friends, family, fiance, the whole shebang. And now she's been reincarnated in the worst way possible. My personal nightmare as an eight-year-old. Zero out of ten, I do not recommend being reincarnated as a child. I don't. And I never will. I'll never endorse it. You'll never see me say be eight years old again.
SPEAKER_01Right? I mean, after you're an adult for a while, you're used to all that freedom. And to and yeah, I couldn't imagine it. Yeah. I couldn't
Otherworldly Premise And Body Snatching
SPEAKER_01imagine it.
SPEAKER_00She was not happy about it either. No. And so I like to call it sad girl magic.
SPEAKER_01And it very much is. In the in the series, when she turns eight years old, that's when she's supposed to be able to pick her class and and everything like that. But she that is when she also gets all of these memories from this other life. And you don't really explain at the very beginning what this other life is. Is it a past life? Is it someone from another world who has just been shoved into her body?
SPEAKER_00So it gets it gets explained slowly over time, but spoilers here. The woman who's been shoved into her body is not Unora's past life. She is a stranger who's bought who's been forced to body snatch this child. It's a tragedy all around. Um book two sees um a re resurgence of some of those instincts of an eight-year-old, as well as um a kind of way to mitigate that tragedy. Um, which I can't tell you what it is because it's a massive spoiler. And it it plays heavily into books three, four, and five.
SPEAKER_01And she spends the majority of book one kind of warring between these new memories of this entire life that she has lived and her eight-year-old memories, and this new memories and this new person that has been shoved in this body have to like acclimate to this whole new world and this new family who basically just ignores this girl.
SPEAKER_00Like this is not ignoring her, they're shooting magic bolts at her.
SPEAKER_01I mean, she I think she spends what like a couple weeks at least in her room by herself.
SPEAKER_00No, months.
SPEAKER_01It's like and no one even remembers that she had her eighth birthday. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they all think they all like one day they just decide. I think this is like when Nora turned eight, I think. And so they just show up at her room. Um, and they only know that because uh uh one of the maids found her after she chose her class. Like they all like they weren't paying attention, not even the Duchess, Countess, whatever you want to call her. Like, they're just useless people, okay? They are, and I know they're children, and they were raised that way, and I wrote them that way, but they're useless people. Her whole family is useless people, like that's not what you want in a family, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And when they're not ignoring her, they're just being very mean to her.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And then there's Theo, who is like the apathetic Dawn, right? And he only cares because it's something he doesn't know. And he's very much like, well, now you know what you've chosen, and obviously it's not a common class, so you should tell me so I can like because she does have a very entitlement yeah, her class is very important to keep to herself.
SPEAKER_01So now, why so why so in the story when she picks her class, and and I I might it's it's been a while since I've read it, so I might be misremembering. But it's the rarity of the class
Stat Sickness And Rare Class Gains
SPEAKER_01you pick causes you like pain and discomfort, and she was in bed for I think it was days.
SPEAKER_00It was it was a it was a day, I think. I I think it was maybe 12 hours.
SPEAKER_01That's when her that's when the maid finds her.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Yeah, so it's called stat sickness, and they kind of briefly go over it in book one, but when you have more than like a percentage increase in one singular stat, you can get really sick. Um, just while you're adjusting to it, because you can't control your new strength, your new perception will give you headaches, your new vitality will make you jittery, uh, your new dexterity will make you move too fast, react too jumpy. Um, now most people, when they get stat sickness, um, it's briefly mentioned um as well in book one, this isn't a super big spoiler, um that when you get stat sickness, it's usually only in a single stat. And you're not totally debilitated. It's just uncomfortable. Um, and the system kind of gives you that warning, just like in case. But in Nora's situation, where she's getting all these levels from a high rarity class, like usually you don't get more than one or two levels when you awaken. She got 12. So that's a lot in a in a rare class where she gets quite a bit of stats in each section. So she was truly debilitated because of how the sheer volume of experience that was integrated into her. So I mean, yeah, that is a thing I did. It was fun. I she it happens later on, it happens a second time.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. And do is now is that does she get this rare class and all of these uh stat increases because that's what she originally was going to get as this eight-year-old, or does it have to do with the new person being shoved into her body?
SPEAKER_00So the original Unora, um, I'll kind of slip this in because it's hard to not go into spoilers when we're just talking about 200 pages, right? But it's all book two spoilers. She was called the Slow Rise of Dawn in her original life. Okay. Um, which is very mean of her family to call her and other children to call her. Uh, but no, she was not offered a higher rarity class, she was offered an uncommon class in her original life. Um Nora had uncommon, uncommon, uncommon. She never actually got to a rare tier in her original life.
Shadow Weaving And Comfort Creatures
SPEAKER_01Okay. She can we one of her abilities is that she can weave shadow. Which is super cool. I want to weave a shadow into yarn.
SPEAKER_00I know. It's so neat. I was so proud of myself when I thought of it. I was like, oh my god, I want her to like what would be like a soothing thing that like kids in the medieval times, like that were nobles, would do. Well, they learned embroidery. Well, Nora's not quite that skilled, so like, what's kind of a like a less dexterous thing that won't injure her with needlepoint? And I was like, well, I can I've been knitting since I was 15. Like on and off. I'm not good at it. I'm I'm very bad at it. But I remember my grandma trying to teach me when I was even younger. So I was like, I bet an eight-year-old could knit at least a little bit. Yeah. And so I was like, you know what? That's so cute. And I bet it would bring her so much comfort to create these little cre those little amiguris or whatever. And I was like, this is it. This is Nora needs some comfort. Okay. She deserves it.
SPEAKER_01Because she can't, she can knit this, she can knit the shadows into these little like creatures that she can like give simple orders to, and they follow her, and it's the cutest thing. Lizards and pandas. It is the cutest thing. Will she eventually get to knit bigger creatures?
SPEAKER_00So that is a spoiler. And it's a big spoiler.
SPEAKER_01So I can't tell you. There's so much potential in that.
SPEAKER_00There's so much potential in that. So I will tell you, she does get a combat build. Okay. So she she her class remains true to her soul, which is more artisanal, more market-based, more economic-based, and her path remains on that level. However, her abilities allow her to also function in a combat capacity very effectively. Like having shadow where you can obscure people's sight, where you can like manifest blades of shadow from already existing shadow. It's very handy in a combat situation. Okay. An elementalist is never without a weapon, right? When you can manifest it, it's there. So she has a very effective combat ability that really shines the further she dives into her shadow powers. Nice. And her weaving.
SPEAKER_01And alright,
Gods Otherworlders And The Fate Backlash
SPEAKER_01so you've got three characters, three heroes that we're gonna be following throughout this world that are all kind of isekaiden from other worlds. Is that something in the grand scheme of this of this universe and world? Is that something that normally happens? Is that something that people just know about or so yes and no?
SPEAKER_00It hasn't happened in a very long time. Um, but it does happen because there's a specific event that allows them to do it. Um and it typically is only done in times of need. Uh however, the gods have kind of like the warring eras are over, like all the borders that have been established are like kind of settled in this area of the world. And so the gods here are just kind of like chilling, right? We're bored. So, like, Grel, Brel, and Mira all get the opportunity to take a soul because this specific event happens, which we find out about in book three, um, what that event was because Frill gets the same opportunity. Well, they get this this event happens, and they're just like, okay, we'll do it, we'll take it, we'll take the opportunity. But usually, unless they have to, they don't. So when this because this event is semi-regular, it's on um maybe not quite every year, but it does happen very frequently. Uh, but it takes up so much energy that it's not worth it. And also, Scylla gets really mad. We learn who she is later. Scylla is like an old goddess who's not very powerful, but she's the goddess of fate, and she does not like it when an otherworlder is born. Because it messes with the tides of fate. I mean, yeah, that would make sense. Yeah. Right? She's seen all these outcomes that could happen currently. Then this otherworlder is awakened, and they're historically more powerful than everyone else, and they're like, ugh, and then it keeps happening. It happens four times.
SPEAKER_01She's like, and you happens four times already.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It happens four times, and she is like so mad about it that okay, I'll give you a fun spoiler that has nothing to do with anything until books 15. There's a fifth person, and Scylla does it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, breaking her own rules.
SPEAKER_00She's breaking her own rules because she's like, you gotta set this world aright, girl.
SPEAKER_01Hopefully, she picks the right person for that.
SPEAKER_00She picks an interesting one. We'd love to see a princess. Oh my gosh.
Writing Through Grief And Bipolar Lows
SPEAKER_01And so while while you were writing this story, your family was going through their own kind of issues. Um how do you think that affected writing this story?
SPEAKER_00I think it made it a little bit more raw. Um, I was going through something personal and dark when I first started writing Otherworldly. I was alone in a new city, um, and I was having trouble adjusting when I started writing Otherworldly. And then I the Otherworldly helped me kind of get out of the funk. Uh it was like writing out the dark feelings in a fantasy aspect was like very helpful to me. Um, unfortunately, about six months into writing Otherworldly, um, my brother-in-law was diagnosed with brain cancer. It was terminal and he's since passed. Um, but there were two long years where I was writing Otherworldly, where we were going through that battle together. And it was very difficult because I grew up with him. I've known him since I was 12 years old. Um, we'd known each other 20 years, right? He was my brother in all but blood. And so it was very difficult, it was very dark, but it allowed. But I was capable of uh processing my feelings through writing and kind of making sure that my grief wasn't overcoming me by putting it all into Nora. So Nora gets her sad girl magic, honestly. I'll tell you that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And and I think that that's something that not this particular situation, but I think that a good number of authors use writing as kind of an outlet for you know things that they're going through in a specific time.
SPEAKER_00I agree, and it's so unique in the way that authors can use writing as an outlet. Because you're you're not just creating something to destroy it, right? You're creating something that you're putting out in the world that other people then resonate with. So even though it's raw, even though it's dark, there are people out there that need to hear it. So I think it's very it's like um painting. I'm a firm believer that uh picture's worth a thousand words. I love art in all its forms. And so I once went to the Museum of Modern History in um Los Angeles. Is it Los Angeles? One second. No, it was San Diego. Sorry, it was California. I've been to California a few times, it's on the other coast. It's anyway, it was San Diego. And we go, and there's this resin piece of art. It's a mirror coated in red resin. It was made in 1943 by a German artist, and I swear to you, I stood in front of it and I said, Wow, this is the sins of humanity. And then I stared at it for 45 minutes, and I was like, God, it can never be allowed to be repeated. I was and I literally felt it so intensely. I it was like I was having a religious moment, it was insane. Anyway, art's crazy, and um writing is just another form of art, right? So it's also crazy. Sorry, that's not very eloquent of me, but that's what you're doing.
SPEAKER_01And and I think that from a reader's perspective, too, um, when you're going through things and you read a story about a character who is, I mean, not even necessarily going through the same thing as you, but experiencing the same kind of feelings as you, it can also be therapeutic from a reader's perspective and make you feel less alone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I will say, even rereading Otherworldly, it reminds me, because Nora, even in her darkest moments, she says, I'm too, I'm too stubborn to go down too dark of a path. She says, if I could walk into the ocean and just fall asleep, I wouldn't. Even though this is horrible, even though I'd want to go home, even though I've lost everything. She says to herself, I am not the kind of person who can actually give up. And that's something I've had to tell myself several times. I'm so some background on me is I'm bipolar and I'm bipolar one, which means uh I have more depression than I do mania, which means for months at a time I can not get out of bed, I can barely take a shower, I can not put on makeup, I sometimes I just skip work for weeks at a time. Like it's horrible. It's it's the worst. When I'm unmedicated, everything is storm clouds. But when I reread Nora having her storm clouds and still saying to herself, yeah, this sucks. Unfortunately, I have to go on. That's how life works. And it like reminds me, yeah, I'm not the kind of person who can just say, This is it. I want to fight, I want to keep fighting, and so it gets me out of bed to remind myself the it's a good fight. It is, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So and that's the little bit of yourself that you wrote in Tonora. Yeah, it is. I gave her my sad girl, I gave Freddie my mad girl, though. You gave her your sad girl, but you also gave her that stubborn, I'm not gonna give up and I'm gonna keep going mentality. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I also gave her my desperate need for schedules.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01There's nothing wrong with having a schedule.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Uh she gets one in book two, and she's like, I'm going to follow this until like the minute, and I and if I don't, I'm going to die.
SPEAKER_01There's nothing wrong with having a schedule. No, she loves a schedule. She's a girl with a plan. Yeah, that's it's good. I I love having a schedule, but I can also be a little loose with it if plans have to change. Yeah. You know, sometimes you have to be a little bit flexible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You can't be type A all the time. At some point, you have to let a little bit of type B kill you.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Just a smidge. Just enough to like course correct.
Planning A 48 Book Mega Saga
SPEAKER_01Yes. You mentioned that there are going to be 15 books in this in this world or in this series?
SPEAKER_00So there's going to be 12 books in Nora's series. And 12 in the other three as well.
SPEAKER_01So there's going to be th that's 36? That's 48. Oh, because that's the four, it's four series total.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. And we don't get books 13, 14, and 15 until all 12 of each one are complete.
SPEAKER_01Do you already know how you want them all to end?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So are you more of a slaughter then? They all have a they all come to an apex point. Um, and that is books 12, 3 or yeah, 12 13, 14, and 15 are an apex point where they all intersect. How do you keep track of it all? I have a very, very long planning document. You would have to. You would have to have that. Very, very long planning document. It has a timeline because you have to remember each so each trilogy is a snippet of time. So for book one through three, it covers a single season of Nora's life. And she's eight the whole time. But books four, five, and six cover five years from ages of thirteen to eighteen. And then books six, or sorry, seven, eight, and nine cover her early. Adulthood at like 22, 23, then the final trilogy and Nora's individual story covers her later in life after she's an established individual. So so that kind of similar jumping around happens in each one.
Lifespans Monsters And The Holy Empire
SPEAKER_00So when you consider in the grand scheme of things, when you have a system that increases vitality, to be 80 years old is to be a child to the eyes of monsters. Yeah. So and most people, most people do not extend their vitality when they have common or uncommon classes. So most people get the common, uncommon classes. That's why they have a standard lifespan, 80 to 100. Like it depends on what your base vitality was, what class you get, stuff like that. When you get uncommon to uncommon to rare, sometimes you can go maybe to 200 years, 250 years. And if you keep leveling and leveling and leveling, your vitality, depending on the class you chose, is gonna keep going up and up and up. And you're gonna maintain your youth longer, keep your life going until you get people like the Duke of Nemo, who is I think he's like 600 years old. Yeah. He's an old man though. He's he's he's old and he's rickety. But there are monsters out there that are 2,000, 3,000 years old. Um the world itself is only 10,000, 12,000 years old. Uh, but there are and there are old monsters that have been around since the beginning of time.
SPEAKER_01Um if you lived and so if you lived in this world, would you choose a class? Would you want to choose a class that would keep you alive for like 600 years?
SPEAKER_00Oh god, no. In this world? No. Uh-uh. I know the background of this world, okay? Am I being if I if first of all, I wouldn't even want to be born in MAVE, okay? Take me out of there, put me anywhere else. MAVE is a religious empire. Um, they're fanatics. They uh no, they literally are a holy empire. Yeah, like they were formed by fanatics. Um their current queen, um, Esther, she's the first queen in thousands of years to say, hey, maybe the gods aren't the perfect people we've kind of told them that they are. And she's the first one that's trying to separate church and state. Nice.
SPEAKER_01Will all of these, will all of these series that you are creating all five of these, four of these? All four of these.
Timelines Across Four Interlocking Series
SPEAKER_01Four. Will they all be running concurrently? So are they all taking place at the same time? So kind of.
SPEAKER_00So that's what I was saying about the timeline. So I am currently writing a burned hearts book two and releasing it on my Patreon. Kind of. I haven't released a chapter in a hot second, but uh that takes place the season after Nora gets there. Well, A Watered Grave, which is about a paladin who's been reborn and deems um all the gods in this new world heretics, um uh takes place the season after that. So we wake up in autumn with Nora, then we wake up in spring with Freddie, or sorry, we wake up in winter with Freddie and spring with Ren, and then summer with Roland. Okay. Those are the first trilogies of each of them. They take place in a single season, and they kind of go, they build off of each other until that point. But once we get past the first trilogy, they actually they're happening at various points in their lives. So the second trilogy will happen sometime between the ages of eight and eighteen, but it depends on the individual person, uh, when in that middle time it is, if it's before Nora's books, after Nora's books, what's happening, what we're talking about. Like we've already actually gotten a glimpse of um one of the main characters in A Watered Grave uh on Patreon with Nora's story. Um, but we don't hear anything about Rowan because Rowan is a commoner, um, born an illegitimate child. He kind of works in the shadows. Freddie works big and she works loud, and it's a whole endeavor to keep her silent. So there's a lot that happens. Ren also works in the shadows, so there's ripples that go through. But they their final trilogy all ends um around the same age. I think they're like 60 at that time, but they all are still youthful because they all take crazy classes, right? They've been reborn for a purpose. Fun. Whether they follow those purposes is neither here nor there.
SPEAKER_01And so when they when you get to the point where they all kind of converge, is that all just going to kind of funnel into the main storyline, or will you still have all the separate series going?
SPEAKER_00So all of your individual storylines should have wrapped up by then, assuming I did my job right, and there's gonna be a final arc that brings uh a full conclusion to their time in Gargantula. Okay. So there's that. It should be uh in my opinion, it's gonna be a pretty epic conclusion. I have it planned out. I've like, I can't wait to get there. I've written some scenes for it already, but knowing my characters, they're gonna say, screw that. Um, we're gonna do something different. Just for fun. It's usually the way it goes. Yeah. Listen, an outline never, never stays intact whenever it touches
Outlines That Break And Books That Expand
SPEAKER_00a character. If that character doesn't want to do that thing, that is on me. Like, I gotta fix that. I can't change the character. I gotta make it so it makes sense. And that's the thing, right? I have my outlines, but they're like one sentence, two sentences long per chapter. Like they're not they're long and they take place over a long period of time, but they're malleable. And so, say, like, for instance, you've seen the lengths of books two and three, right? They're they're chunky. Um, for instance, when I planned book three, which turned out to be 900 pages, uh, it was plotted for 300 pages. So, in order to get Nora where I wanted her to go, she had to like have this whole other arc before she could get there. She was like, but I'm not there yet. And I said, but you gotta get there, so we're gonna get you there. So I had to add like 12 extra chapters to it. That's a lot. That's a lot. I think I added way more than that because it was plotted to be, I think, like 24 or 25 chapters, and it ended at 66.
SPEAKER_01So many. There it is, man. It's so many books now are just so long. I know. And everyone's like, your book is so short.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, I mean it's 200 pages. That's like a normal kind. It's like that's like a normal novel. I have a 300-page novel that comes out in five days, and someone was like, it's so short. I was like, no, it's not. It's 60,000 words.
unknownIt's normal.
SPEAKER_00It's normal. You people are just crazy.
SPEAKER_01No, I miss the normal.
SPEAKER_00Like anyone in Litter PG writes like 120,000-word first books. I'm like, that's crazy. I'll read it as a web novel, don't get me wrong. And I'll read it as like a Kindle unlimited thing, but purchasing a book that is like this thick, it's a lot. Like you really have to be dedicated to have that much space on a bookshelf.
SPEAKER_01It's uh they take up a lot. I don't I don't do Kindles, uh, and I don't do as many audiobooks as I used to do, so now I'm probably 90% physical, and it takes up a lot of space.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I'm gonna say this um as a hypocrite because I also have this massive book which I actually want to talk
The Kickstarter Omnibus And Collecting Physical Books
SPEAKER_00about. So this is your Kickstarter book. This is my Kickstarter book. It's so shiny. It's the collection of the first three books of Nora's story. It's Otherworldly, The Awakening of Unora Dawn. It has two very pretty maps and endpapers. So beautiful. This is the world in which she is exiled to, by the way.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00This fun little town. This is the entirety of Maze. Ooh, okay. Yeah, she's up north, she's up here. Technically, this is west, not north. Um, but narratively it's the focus, so I had to put it in. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, and it's shiny. It's very shiny, and the edges are beautiful.
SPEAKER_00Uh and it has little like Easter eggs for the book on the cover. Cute. Look at that. She is so chunky.
SPEAKER_01She really is chunky. How many pages is that?
SPEAKER_00I want to say 1150? Uh, yes. Uh 1152. Do you know I had to uh put a whole piece of foam in this book? It's not. Really? Yeah. They don't actually let you print books this long. Oh. Well, you did it. You I did it. I had to special. It's it's special through the influence.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I, in the description of the video, will put a link to that Kickstarter so people can just go to it to save it. Uh, that is absolutely beautiful. So when is your next book coming
Witcher Warrior Scholar Spy And Sacrifice Magic
SPEAKER_01out? Because it's I my next book comes out August 1st. Because I believe it is already up for pre-order on Amazon. It is.
SPEAKER_00Yes, so it's called Witcher Warrior Scholar Spy. It's a traditional high fantasy, no litter PG elements. However, uh the protagonists are all local. So it's my first time writing a non-reincarnated um series of protagonists. There's four of them. Um, it's a play on Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy. So I don't know if you've ever seen that movie. Okay, so it's about one guy who wears many different hats. Um, but this book is about four people that wear the same, like they are needed to fulfill one purpose. Okay. So Witcher, Warrior, Scholar, and Spy. They're named heroes. They're called the Four Heroes of Exile. And basically, they are spread out across the continent when their kingdom falls to this thing called the Doom. Um, yes, the doom. Very ominous. Yes, they're all late 20 disaster something people. Um, and they have to learn how to be heroes when they shouldn't have had to be heroes in their lifetime. Because the doom came early, came 200 years early. It's a and it's a routine, so they know.
SPEAKER_01So they weren't ex- So it's something that routinely happens every so many years. Yeah, and they were not expecting to be heroes in their lifetime. Oh interesting.
SPEAKER_00So they're all spread out, and their first obstacle is finding each other, and then we have to take it from there. That sounds really good. I wish I could show you um the cover. I have it, but it's downstairs, so I don't want to like run out and get it. I should have put it right here next to the city. Oh, but it's so pretty. Oh my god. Yeah, I'm so proud of it. Tamsin, my friend, uh Tams and Hawthorne, uh did the covers for me.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, I looked at it on Amazon. It is a really cute, like it's a really nice looking cover.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00I'm so proud of it. She did so good. Traitor Torture Torch Trist, which is book two, and it is a tongue twister, um, is the final book in the duology, and its cover is also very pretty. Nice.
SPEAKER_01And so there's only gonna be that's just the two books, then.
SPEAKER_00Just the two books, but there are more books in the world.
SPEAKER_01Okay. You really like doing uh multiple POVs in the same world.
SPEAKER_00I do because I don't like the world build.
SPEAKER_01Fair enough. I imagine that does take a lot of bandwidth to do. It's a lot, okay.
SPEAKER_00Listen, I built two magic systems. I I built the system for gargantua and kind of the other systems in those origin worlds. Um, but then I built the system for the ten for the ten realms of perception and new arconia, where they basically have like wells of magic that tie to our world's perception of gods loosely. So, like, um, for instance, there's air Aztec gods, African gods, um Nordic, uh, Roman Greek. All those gods have a place in this world vaguely. So, like, there's a well of Zolo, which um I don't know if you know who Zolochittl is, but he is an Aztec god of plague and fire. And so the well of Zolo ties direct to him, and he'll appear if you basically sacrifice something to see him and give you an a tie to his well and give you his magic. Yeah, it's a it's kind of a grimdark scene, I would say. Um, everybody is born with a well, uh, like a tie to a well, so they all have magic, specific types of magic, but it that's very weak unless you um go and reaffirm yourself to this well and like pray to this god and sacrifice something before him. Um, and so it it can take things like fingers, tongues, it can take metaphysical things, your ability to feel emotions, it can take memories, like and each well is different, what it'll take. So wow, that's actually fascinating. Yeah, you should definitely read Witcher Warriors Dollars. I think you'll like it.
SPEAKER_01So, and is each well for a different god? No.
SPEAKER_00And our our four main heroes, their well has collapsed. So their well was the well of Chronic, who is the well of time. And the Witcher obviously had other wells. Okay, their whole thing is magic. And whereas Shen, Kuala, and Arkham don't have other wells because they rely so heavily on their home well, and they weren't supposed to require a backup, so they all have to get a secondary source of magic. And so they all have to deal with the repercussions of that because um no one none of the other gods are allied to Chronic. Who's Chronos? Uh, that's rough. So they don't like him, they don't like any of them. So they like Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm gonna pre-order that book as soon as we're done.
SPEAKER_00Yes! I hope you enjoy it. Oh my gosh. Yeah, um, the main character, so there's four main characters, um, and it kind of goes through all of their point of views in a very clear, concise way. So we get each each part focuses on each person once, and we have seven total parts until we finish volume one.
Royal Road Strategy Where To Find Alora
SPEAKER_00So nice, that's exciting. And I put it all up on Royal Road for a hot second, um, which was funny, um, because it's not Lit RPG. I didn't release it in the way you're supposed to. I just put it up there, said, hey. Here it is. Here it is. And, you know, it did okay. And by okay, I mean it got 23 followers and five ratings, okay? And but it was all five stars. Well, there you go. There you go. Yeah, I didn't even advertise it except for one time. Nice. I was like, you know what, that's pretty good. I'll say that's pretty good for being up for five days, okay? It was up for five days. Yeah. And I was like, meanwhile, like Otherworldly does like really good numbers, like it does like 3,500 followers on regular, plus I have like several people on my Patreon, and I'm like, it does it, it's ranked uh top 1,000 on the site. So I'm like, yeah, I'm actually unstubbing Otherworldly to put it back up on Royal Road.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So it's it's still gonna be on Amazon, but it's not gonna be on Kindle Unlimited anymore.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and so that's what you have to do. If it's on Kindle Unlimited, you have to take it off a Royal Road, but you can have it on Royal Road as long as it's not on Unlimited. Okay. Well, so where can everyone find you?
SPEAKER_00So I'm a Laura Lee Wrights on Instagram and Facebook. I'm a Laura LeeWrights.com on WordPress, though I don't use that very often, though you can uh email me on it. Uh don't abuse that power, please. And then uh if you ever want to find me on Royal Road or on Discord, I'm just a Laura Lee.
SPEAKER_01Fantastic.
SPEAKER_00All one word.
SPEAKER_01Well, I think that was everything that I had for you. Was there anything that you wanted to talk about that I didn't bring up?
SPEAKER_00No, we talked about a lot, and I'm very happy. Thank you so much for all the good questions.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I had a great time. Yeah, this was fun. Uh, so yeah, then that is everything that I had for you. Uh, thank you so much for coming and hanging out with me. I really appreciate it. And uh thank you, everyone else, for sticking around and keep leveling up.
